Since Spring just arrived and how this is a 10 week course, we couldn’t waste any time not planting out potatoes. After allowing a few potatoes to grow out their “eyes”, students began cutting them out into cubes, left it out to dry for a day then proceeded to plant. Students began planting their potatoes in groups of 4-5. The school was fully equipped with a indoor greenhouse and they purchased five 1m cubed raised beds or bins. The eyes were planted about a feet apart and 6 inches deep. Needless to say this was a fun day.
Check out the first school article written about my course =) (in Chinese only)

I did have to teach a bit of how to plant and keep a journal of the growth process….
